So far my groupe has gotten to sending out emails to some of our sources and we have filmed one teacher interview and some student itnerviews. the only problem we have really encountered was my car almost got towed, so we havent had any filming problems. we all work together well and we get the job done. we have an interview this coming week with mr.carter and he is going to tell us about the budget for the arts at south.
The best thing you can do when making a documentary is to reasearch your subjet or your topic as much as you can. you can go ahead on jst curiosity but eventually you will need to know about your topic to go about the filming in a professional manor. you need to research as much as possible when you aren't aware of the topic details. you cant get aenough research done. take note on factsthat seem minute because even the smallest facts can make a big difference in whtetheror not your film is boring or lack luster. sometimes you may not be able to find facts by yourself about the subject, if you cant do so by yourself find a person who knows about it, and talk to other people.

So far my group has filmed about twenty minutes of footage. we have one substantial interview with mrs.meyers the choir teacher. we have set up an interview with mr.carter the band teacher because he knows the most about the budget for the arts at SHS. We plan on interviewing mrs.sadler and representatives from spring board, an arts company in the cities. we havent had any substantial hiccups so far. all three of us work fairly well together and we all have worked hard and been able to put our ideas to good use.
documentaries influence many of todays films. the realness of a documentary can be created in a fictional film to make it seem like its real life. doing so can make the viewer feel like more a part of the story line. i was surprised to read that it is becoming more and more popular to make movies more "real" looking instead of to fabricate the picture. personally i like to watch movies to escape reality rather than feel like im more a part of it. granted, action films and such would be cool to see in such a real picture, the people want an escape, but i guess its all about what sells.

In my group we have started filming as of today. We have scheduled an interview and we are well on our way to getting our trailor squared away. we have had to go back and forth mtn to get equipment. we have now learned, when in doubt, just check out all equipment necessary. our ideas are cohesive and we are all working well together. i just hope we can stay on task. as of right now the way we are going about things is pretty smooth. i cant say we wont run into more problems but so far everything is going fine.
artists are the first to make things evident to those around them. they think outside the box, they pay close attention to things that are note worthy. what surprised me is that you can play off of sarcasm or just setting a neutral tone (playing off of the audiences intelligence). to get people to watch my documentary i would probably think to be as aware of their feelings as possible. There are many ways you can go about making a documentary. you can always apply your creative flare but know that not everyone see's things as you do.
